Everything seems to work with a bit of button fidgeting. Flash works, screen works, buttons work, film door works, there's no battery cover, takes 1 CR2 battery, back screen works and film advance/return works. Don't forget to check out the rest of my shop!!! More, older or newer, cameras and accessories to come!!! Ask questions if you have them :)

History

With the launch of the P series in August 2005, Kodak unveiled a new category of "advanced digital cameras," which it thinks would serve as a substitute for entry-level DSLRs. The EasyShare P850 (reviewed in December 2005) and the EasyShare P880, the camera under evaluation here, are the first two models. Due in large part to the wideangle 24-140mm equivalent 5.8x zoom, the 8 megapixel P880 offers a fairly uncommon combination of characteristics. On paper, this combination of characteristics looks very attractive. However, with a price tag of just under $600, it needs to deliver if it's going to be a true alternative to a digital SLR. Add raw capture, full photographic control, and a 2.5-inch screen, and you have what looks like a very compelling blend of features. Starting with a brief summary of the main selling aspects, let's find out if the P880 fulfils its promise.

Specs

The camera boasts a fast f/2.8 24–140 mm wide-angle lens, allowing photographers to capture stunning images with a wide field of view. With its 8.0 MP sensor, the camera delivers sharp and detailed photographs. Its advanced video features enable users to record high-quality videos with ease. The inclusion of a hot shoe flash connector and PC flash sync gives photographers the flexibility to experiment with external lighting sources. The camera offers a range of shooting modes, including program, aperture priority, shutter priority, manual, and custom modes, providing photographers with complete control over their creative vision. Additionally, the camera supports a proprietary RAW file format, allowing for greater post-processing flexibility. The inclusion of histogram technology with highlight and shadow clipping ensures accurate exposure evaluation, helping photographers achieve optimal image quality in challenging lighting conditions. Overall, this camera combines versatile features and advanced technology to empower photographers in capturing impressive shots in various scenarios.
